The serious game Pacific, a pioneer in the development of leadership and team management skills, has been awarded the gold medal at the 2016 International Serious Play Awards.
This award recognizes those projects that promote participation and multiply learning opportunities in both the education and corporate training sectors. Such is the case of the third serious game designed by Gamelearn, which obtains its first international distinction since it was launched in 2015.
Pacific, gold to celebrate its first year
Pacific is a course in videogame format, designed for the development of leadership skills. It was released last October with the aim of becoming a practical manual, step by step, on how to run and manage high performance teams.
To achieve this, the art of leadership is transformed into a set of techniques, tools and strategies directly applicable to the job and common to any “manager” profile, and which the user must learn through the simulator.
Gamelearn turns leadership, thanks to Pacific, into a survival adventure to develop management skills such as:
- Defining roles, responsibilities and objectives.
- Analyzing the needs of the team, improving processes and increasing motivation.
- Resolving conflicts within the team.
- Improving communication for the delegation of tasks.
- Encouraging teamwork and performance orientation.
Developed in 3D animation and HTML5 language to be adaptable to a variety of devices, Pacific is available in eight languages and requires only an Internet connection. The key to the success of the videogame lies in a novel methodology that combines three key elements:
- Quality content and practical approach: equivalent to a two-day classroom training course.
- An advanced simulator that allows for practice and personal feedback.
- Gamification techniques that guarantee ‘engagement’ and student motivation (storytelling, badges, levels, rankings, etc.).
In addition to the gold medal awarded by Serious Play Awards, Pacific gets very positive results among its students: a completion ratio of 94%, 99% of the players consider it applicable to their job and 93% recommend it.
The Serious Play Awards
The Serious Play Awards are granted by the SPC (Serious Play Conference), whose purpose is to publicize and promote successful game-based learning programs. All these sectors have seen in interactive learning and game-based learning a new practical and efficient way to acquire knowledge and develop the talent of thousands of professionals.
